This post is for the Paint Splatters ( paid subscribers of the Do It Ugly Project)— WELCOME

I am going to show you how I paint on clothing and also what some other people in the industry are doing and selling.

It is a really fun and sustainable hobby/business to have.

Do It Ugly Project would love to welcome you as a subscriber in whatever form you choose, but if you choose a small contribution, this post is for you!

HI Friend!

Welcome to the very first paid subscriber post I am offering here on the Do It Ugly Project and I am so thrilled you are here.

I have been having a great time the last few weeks painting on clothing and I want to share with you what exactly I am doing and show off some other inspiration also.

If you see anything here you like, you should take that as an invitation to create it yourself. Do it for you or for your clients.

But, lets start at the beginning.

Who remembers these?

Buying jeans just to take home, put them in the bathtub and douse them with bleach.

Then a few years back, one of the major clothing brands started selling paint splattered jeans for hundreds of dollars and artists everywhere were like, dang, I am always trying to keep my clothes paint splatter free.

The jeans in this photo above are a bit more involved than just splatters and they sell for $800.

In Round Top, Texas they have an antique and art show twice a year that is so good. I saw so much painted and upcycled clothing there and nothing was less than $200.
